What would Halloween be without scary Halloween decorations? You have no excuse not to have Halloween decorations when they are s readily available and easy to make. They don’t have to be expensive to look good. In fact have the fun of Halloween is to give in to your tacky side and let loose.

Black and orange being the traditional colors, you can add silver to jazz things up and plenty of glitter for sparkle. Your scary Halloween decorations can even diverge from the traditional orange and black and instead feature scary skeletons, spiders and witches in keeping with the mood. Purple works well at this time of year.

Have Fun Indoors and Outdoors

Did you ever think that foam packing could be part of your scary Halloween decorations? Well now you can utilize any foam lying around or go out and buy some this Halloween. Find ghost templates online or use your imagination to draw ghostly silhouettes on packing foam.

Cut these out and use a craft knife to make eyes and mouth. These look fantastic stuck on a black background at a window or made into a creepy mobile. You can even hang them in your trees. Make them whatever size you want and put them anywhere you like. You can use felt to make other Halloween shapes, like pumpkins and bats to accompany your foam ghosts.

Mummy treat holders are more on the cute side of scary Halloween decorations. Take toilet tissue roll tubes and cut them in two. Now trace a circle around one end of the tubes onto a piece of circle. Cut out the circle and tape onto the end of the tubes.

Wrap the tubes in gauze, winding it this way and that to give a mummy look. Then add goggle eyes. Fill these with treats and put them all over the house, great for when guests come over. Or give them to children at Halloween parties or you can even use them as part of your table centerpieces.

Make gravestones as part of your scary Halloween decorations. You can easily cut out gravestone shapes from cardboard and paint them gray, brown or crumbly looking yellow. Visit a local graveyard for inspiration! Use stencils to write names and epitaphs on the graves. Stick them in the yard with a garden stake that has been duct taped to the back. They shouldn’t be straight instead they should be crooked.

What would Halloween be without good Halloween yard decorations? A scary yard is the first thing that children will encounter when trick or treating and it’s all part of the fun. If you think it’s only Christmas that people get creative and competitive with yard decorations then think again.

There are plenty of Halloween yard decorations that you can buy for the occasion. You can also make your own Halloween yard decorations or use a mixture of both. There are some yard decorations that are very easy to make, and most importantly, they are really cheap.

Sheet Ghosts

Making ghosts out of sheets is easy and one of the most inexpensive Halloween yard decorations that you can make. All you need is a ball; a few two by fours and of course a sheet. Make a T shape or cross with the two by fours and place them at appropriate places in your yard. Now duct tape the ball to the top of the T to create the head. Drape the sheet over and you have a ghost. Use nails or a staple gun to keep the sheet in place on the wood. Add details like eyes and mouth with paint or construction paper if you want to use your sheets again.

Giant Spiders

You can make giant spiders are part of your Halloween yard decorations with newspaper, cardboard and black garbage bags. Wad up newspaper so that you have two large balls, one should be smaller than the other. One is going to be the head and the other the body. Put the bigger ball into the bottom of a large black garbage bag and gather the plastic bag closed around the ball and tie it with string.

Now place the second ball inside and do the same thing. Cut the excess plastic bag and you have the body. For the legs cut eight pieces of cardboard into long strips. Now use garbage bag strips that are longer and wider than the cardboard. Wrap the cardboard with the plastic and tape it into place with cellophane tape. Stick the legs onto the body of the spider and make the face out of construction paper.

You can add store bought gravestones to your Halloween yard decorations to make a super spooky yard. If you want to go to the expense of buying a fog machine for authenticity then go ahead. You could use dry ice and water but remember it will take a lot of dry ice and you will have to keep adding water for the fog effect.

Many people love to decorate their home for Halloween. They usually decorate both the inside and outside of the house with some really cool Halloween decorations. Next to Christmas, Halloween is the most decorated holiday of the year. Decorating one’s house is not hard. Here are some really fun and easy Halloween decoration ideas for the entire house.

Halloween Decorations for the Front Yard

Decorating the front yard with Halloween decorations is fun. Hundreds of people will see your fabulous Halloween decorations as they drive or walk down the street. You can create a huge tarantula out of large black trash bags and old leaves. A stuffed dummy, pumpkins on the porch, spider webs in the bushes, and old grave stones scattered about the yard are just a few popular ideas. One can also include outdoor Halloween lights, a fog machine and some sound effects for added enjoyment.

Halloween Decorations for the Living Room

The living room is probably where the family spends most of its time. This is also the area where guests will spend time too. Therefore, you should decorate this area using some Halloween hang ups around the walls, some Halloween figurine one the tables, and some Halloween static stickers for the windows. A small Halloween candy dish on the coffee table is also a nice addition to the living room. However, try not to over decorate the living room.

Halloween Decorations for the Kitchen

Similar to the living room, you do not want to over decorate the kitchen for Halloween. You can place some Halloween place mats on the table and use Halloween dish clothes around the kitchen. You can also hang some Halloween hang ups around the kitchen and on the windows. Try to find a cute Halloween center piece for the kitchen table and place a bowl of Halloween treats on the countertop for quick and easy snacking.

Halloween Decorations for the Rest of the House

Decorating bedrooms, bathrooms, and other parts of your home is up to you. It would be nice to set a few Halloween figurines in each room along with some nice Halloween hang-ups on the walls and in the windows. Guests may or may not see these decorations, so you will only need a few. Halloween toilet covers, bed sheets and towels are nice additions to these rooms of the house.

Decorating the house with Halloween decorations is a fun and exciting thing to do each year. With a little bit of an imagination and a lot of creativity, one can really decorate their home for the Halloween holiday. Your guests and family will simply love what you have done to the house.

There is nothing quite so enchanting as a neighborhood decorated by all of the inhabitants in anticipation of Halloween. Imagine what it must be like to be a small child who drives to school through many different outdoor Halloween decorations. The excitement grows daily for the special holiday that so many children enjoy at the end of October every year. Many adults remember the Halloween celebrations in their past. They remember which neighbors had outdoor Halloween decorations and the best candy. They might also remember that some gave apples instead chocolate, but they could forgive them if they had some great outdoor Halloween decorations.

Outdoor Halloween decorations create a magical atmosphere in a neighborhood as the children don their costumes and grab their Halloween bags. The children often plan their costumes months ahead of time, and they put them on with great excitement when the night comes. Most of the children love to look in the mirror at their own costume, but they also look forward to viewing the costumes of the other children. Groups walk through the neighborhood with their costumes and their excitement is even greater if the neighbors have provided some outdoor Halloween decorations.

Outdoor Halloween Decorations Create A Fantastic Atmosphere

Many shops have some great outdoor Halloween decorations, and these do not require a lot of work. There is usually a great selection of black cats, jack-o-lanterns and spiders that can be placed in the windows or on the lawns. Some of the shops now have some great spider webs in various colors that children might have to walk through to get to the door. There are some great ghosts that can be hung from the trees or perched on the roof. The grocery stores are often filled with outdoor Halloween decorations that include pumpkins that can be creatively carved.

Outdoor Halloween decorations can be totally unique depending on the imagination of the neighbors. Some people pose as ghosts or goblins on their own porch and scare the neighborhood children when they approach the door. Imagine the excitement of the children if a scarecrow suddenly comes alive when they enter the yard of the most creative neighbors. Lights can be used to add to the effects of outdoor Halloween decorations, and children usually love to see some eerie lights on Halloween. A combination of products from the shops and every day items can also make some great outdoor Halloween decorations. Some skeletons, witches or ghosts sitting at the family picnic table on the front lawn should bring a bit more excitement on this great holiday.
