Throwing a Themed Halloween Bash
For many people, Halloween is the perfect excuse to throw an amazing party! And while themed parties are sometimes considered tacky, no Halloween-themed party is ever described that way. A Halloween theme for your party covers all aspects of the event—from the food, to the decorations, to the attire, to the games. All of these components can be planned around the theme—Halloween!
Fun Food for Thought
What would a Halloween-themed party be without candy? Bowls of candy are a must at any Halloween party. Scatter them around the room for easy access. Candy apples, caramel corn, and roasted pumpkin seeds are all foods that are characteristic of Halloween.
You can also personalize different foods to fit your Halloween theme. For example, typical chocolate cupcakes can be made to look like witches—simply frost the cupcakes with green frosting, place a thin chocolate wafer on top, add a layer of chocolate frosting, and then top it off with a chocolate ice cream cone. The result couldn’t be cuter! Try it with other foods, too.
Dramatic Décor
The decorations for a Halloween themed party couldn’t be easier. Even those who don’t have a creative bone in their body can decorate their Halloween party—your local party store can provide you with whatever you might need as far as decorations are concerned. Fake spider webs, rubber bats, fake smoke—all of these are easily found and will add to the ambiance of the party.
What to Wear?
What else would you wear to a Halloween-themed party besides a costume? Requesting that party guests wear a Halloween costume will make for a fun and exciting party. You can have a guessing game to see who is dressed up as what, or you could award prizes to those with the best costume. The possibilities are endless!
Games Galore
Games might be childish, but they are an essential part of any Halloween party. While the whole party need not be structured around games, having one or two fun activities is a great way for the guests to bond and make lasting memories. Some Halloween games are longstanding traditions that go back thousands of years. Bobbing for apples, for example, has been around since Halloween originated. Holding a séance is another activity that would be a big hit at a Halloween party.
Fun for All
Halloween is a fun holiday anyway, but throwing a Halloween-themed party makes it even better. When the food, decorations, attire, and activities are all geared towards Halloween, there is no way that the party wouldn’t be a blast.

I can trace my obsession with vampires back to 1987 when I saw The Lost Boys for the first time (the first of many, many times). Years later, there was “Buffy”, then “Angel”, and later “Moonlight” on television.
I’ve always preferred entertainment with bite.
While I have to admit that the sequel, Lost Boys: The Tribe, was terrible, I [...]
